Vigil: Season 3

DCI Amy Silva (Suranne Jones) and DI Kirsten Longacre’s (Rose Leslie) new case takes them to a remote Arctic research station after a member of a covert British special forces mission has been shot dead. Vine FX supported season 3 of Vigil with invisible VFX and beauty work.

BBC’s acclaimed thriller Vigil returned for its third season, continuing its high-stakes stories of espionage, danger and investigation. Against a tense and atmospheric backdrop, the series follows its central characters as they become drawn into a complex new mystery, where every detail matters and the stakes are higher than ever.

Vine FX supported the production with a range of visual effects and finishing work, helping to create the immersive world required for the series. A key element of the work was the creation and enhancement of snow, adding convincing winter conditions to shots and helping to establish the cold, dramatic atmosphere of the story. The snow VFX was carefully integrated with the live-action photography to ensure a natural and seamless result across the sequences.

Vine FX also completed detailed beauty work for Rose Leslie’s character, digitally removing a visible stye from the eye while preserving the natural appearance, performance and detail of the original footage. This subtle work required precision and a light touch, ensuring the adjustment remained invisible to the audience.
